What to look out for in PSU CHEM 212
-
Exam Format Changes
During online semesters, some professors completely eliminated exams, while others kept the exact same format since 2013. Tutor with me 1-on-1 to prepare for structural exam shifts in the Fall 2021 semester!
-
Curriculum Switch
There was a minor curriculum switch in Fall 2020 where Aromaticity and Benzene Substitution Reactions from Orgo 1 moved to Orgo 2, and Spectroscopy moved from Orgo 2 to Orgo 1.
-
Pick Your Professor Wisely
Exam format and questions are different across CHEM 212 professors. Some professors' exams will be, and have been, more difficult than others. Tutoring 1-on-1 with me includes free advising on picking easier Orgo professors at PSU.
-
Course Structures
CHEM 212 feels like the wild, wild west at PSU because different professors format exams differently, and teach more in depth into topics than others. Notable topics include Acid Base Equilibrium, 2 or 4 electron Reduction, Amino Acid Synthesis, and multi-method-reverse Synthesis.
